All A.I.D.A. cards (meaning virtual cards generated before the migration on April 12 and 13, 2021) can only be used until July 12, 2021. This deactivation is regardless of the validity period originally set or how they were generated: whether in the former AirPlus Business Travel Portal, another booking portal, or via your travel agency.
If you would like to use these cards for payment after July 12, please exchange them with new AirPlus Virtual Cards via the AirPlus Portal. We recommend already exchanging them before the July 12 deadline. However, if you discover only after the deadline that you have overlooked an expired card, you are able to create a new card in the new AirPlus Portal right away, ready for immediate use.
Our transition is in full swing and we are working daily to make it as smooth as possible for you, whether you are a corporate customer, a travel agency, or a service provider generating AirPlus Virtual Cards on behalf of your customers. Please note that AirPlus Virtual Cards are becoming a standalone product with separate billing statements and their own account numbers independent of the Company Account or Travel Agency Account.
This website will be continuously updated, so please visit it regularly to stay on top of the latest information and bookmark it for easier access!

Please note that AirPlus Virtual Cards are becoming a product independent of the AirPlus Company Account, with their own Virtual Cards account number.
Please store this new 12-digit AirPlus Virtual Cards account number in all systems relevant for you, such as travel expense reporting, online booking engines (OBE/SBT) and any other service providers who support you in handling payments (e.g. Conferma, Itelya, Consolidator). It’s important you also inform your cooperating travel agency about the new account number.
After the migration, generating AirPlus Virtual Cards will be possible only via the new AirPlus Portal, using the new 12-digit account number.
Any Virtual Cards you already created in the former portal are only valid up to July 12, 2021, regardless of the validity period you originally set. Be sure to exchange any affected cards if you plan to use them beyond this date by simply generating new ones in the new portal.
Please bear in mind that transaction fees (TAFs) will appear in your associated AirPlus Company Account statement until further notice.
If you receive eBilling files please go straight to the eBilling section.
Virtual Cards Overview Document
You will have two portal accesses available during a transitional period: the new AirPlus Portal , for all services relating to your AirPlus Virtual Cards and AirPlus Corporate Cards, and the previous AirPlus Business Travel Portal , for all other products and services.
Please register for the new AirPlus Portal as soon as possible after it is activated.
The roles of Program Manager and Portal Administrator created in the previous AirPlus Business Travel Portal are assigned automatically. All other roles must be assigned using our new roles and rights concept in the new AirPlus Portal.

The AirPlus Virtual Cards also experienced some content changes regarding the daily transaction and statement data. For recipients of electronic billing data it is important to review if any adjustments are needed on your end as a result, whether your company needs to adjust check logics to field content or automated processes in order to be able to process data as usual. Make sure to review our checklist on eBilling to understand all next steps needed ahead of migration!
Here are some of the key changes around eBilling, but we encourage you to visit this website for more in-depth information.

AirPlus Virtual Cards is now a separate product, so you will receive a separate AirPlus Virtual Cards account number independent of your Company Account number.
All payments you make with AirPlus Virtual Cards will be summarized under the respective account on your statement. This account number has 12 digits and no expiry date. Just like with the Company Account, you can imagine this account number as a kind of bank account number you use to generate individual virtual cards.
If you are a travel agency acting on behalf of your customers, please make sure to retrieve all AirPlus Virtual Cards account numbers from them ahead of the migration date (April 12, 2021), or you may also get them directly from AirPlus by sending an email to partnermigration@airplus.com .
From the time when your corporate customers migrate onward, please use only the new AirPlus Virtual Cards account numbers for virtual card generation.
The person at your company designated to act as Travel Agency Administrator will be notified accordingly in the run-up to the migration. The Portal Administrator is responsible for assigning the other user roles in due time before the migration date.
Please continue to transmit the TAF to AirPlus using the TAMARA interface via the previous associated AirPlus Company Account.
Key Changes for Travel Agencies
We have compiled a visual document to reflect all key changes you will experience while navigating the different interfaces of migration, including the changes we have made to the product design, card generation process, card usage and invoicing.
Overview of changes
Your AirPlus Virtual Cards have successfully migrated and you can now start enjoying the benefits of the new AirPlus Portal. Keep in mind the following points as you familiarize yourself with the card generation process and see our dedicated quick guides below for more clarity on the topic.
Lifespan and validity period
All AirPlus Virtual Cards have a 12-month lifespan, meaning that you have one year to use them from the time they are generated.
To improve security, AirPlus Virtual Cards in the single-use version are activated for a specific time period during their year-long lifespan. This is called the validity period, and you set it yourself. It can be up to 6 months long and fall anywhere within the 12-month lifespan. Please note that all single-use cards are also active and available for use during the first 72 hours after they are generated.
For example, if you create a card and set a validity period to begin in 4 months, the card will be active for 3 days (72 hours) right away, and then no longer active until the four months have passed (the beginning of your selected validity period).
On account of their high security, AirPlus Virtual Cards in the multi-use version are active for use for their entire 12-month lifespan. You will not have to set an additional validity period.
Merchant categories
When generating AirPlus Virtual Cards, you will first choose which type of card you need based on the merchant category where you intend to make a payment.
The 3 card types and their associated payment categories include the following:

Our virtual payment solution previously known as A.I.D.A. has previously been part of the AirPlus Company Account. This new AirPlus Virtual Cards product is migrating to a new, state-of-the-art IT platform where it will be completely independent from the Company Account. It therefore now requires its own account number.
Without a new AirPlus Virtual Cards account number, you will not be able to generate AirPlus Virtual Cards. As of April 12, 2021, you will only be able to generate AirPlus Virtual Cards in the new AirPlus Portal, which requires a new account number. The former AirPlus Business Travel Portal will no longer be available for this service. Please contact us if you believe you have not received your new AirPlus Virtual Cards account number in time for migration.
New AirPlus Virtual Cards account numbers are linked to current AirPlus Company Accounts. Under the service “Your new AirPlus Virtual Cards account numbers” within the AirPlus Business Travel Portal , you may extract your list of new AirPlus Virtual Cards account numbers as an Excel (xls) file or translate them by inserting the current number. Please make sure to provide your colleagues, travel agencies, and other service providers with your new account numbers.
Download our checklist for corporate customers for more information, click here.
You should make sure that your travel agency and other service providers (e.g. travel and settlement service providers) are informed of your new account number(s) so that they can continue to generate AirPlus Virtual Cards on your behalf based on the new account number.
If you use booking platforms and other external service providers such as an expense system, the old account numbers will need updating.
The new multi-use version of our AirPlus Virtual Cards Classic and AirPlus Virtual Cards Procurement products makes generating a virtual card for recurring payments easy. You can do all of this in the new AirPlus Portal .

All users of the former AirPlus Business Travel Portal need to complete a one-time registration process for the new AirPlus Portal to kick-off the migration process. To do so, please use the “New AirPlus Virtual Cards“ service in the tab “Credit Card Management“ on the former AirPlus Business Travel Portal or click on “Register your account here” below the login button on the new AirPlus Portal .
If you are a new user of the AirPlus Portal you will receive an email from your Program Manager / Portal Administrator with the subject “AirPlus Portal” and includes the Portal activation link which is valid for 48 hours.
We strongly recommend using your individual professional email address (this ensures that anyone in your organization can register). You will need to create a new password for your new portal login. Please do not share your login credentials and please note that a user can only be logged in to one device at a time.
For more information, please see our portal registration guide
Clicking the “Login” button at the top of the www.airplus.com page will display a page offering you access to both portals. One box will lead to the two-field login for the new AirPlus Portal and the other to the three-field login for the former AirPlus Business Travel Portal .
Yes, as soon as you have registered for the new portal, you will receive the same rights as in the former AirPlus Business Travel Portal.
The new roles concept within the new portal allows easy assignment and overview of each employee’s access rights. A role is assigned on an account within your company structure. Users can have multiple roles on the same account. These are the new roles:
For partners (travel agencies and XML partners) specifically, these are the key roles within the new portal.
For more information, please see our user role guide here.
Due to stringent PCI requirements, AirPlus Virtual Cards now only display masked card numbers in the electronic billing files when they are downloaded from the new AirPlus Portal.
For all other transmission routes (SFTP, email, x.400), the card number is not masked.
Card Administrators can only see the authorizations and transactions for the Virtual Cards they have generated themselves.
Portal Administrators are responsible for managing the company’s users as well as generating and managing AirPlus Virtual Cards. They are assigned on a contract, product, or account level.
For more information, please see our user role guide
If you are responsible for different legal entities as Portal Administrator or Program Manager, you will be required to switch your portal view. Under ‘Profile,’ you can select your other legal entities. Once you have selected the desired legal entity, the respective accounts will be displayed.
The username for the new portal is your email address; if you had multiple users in the previous portal you can merge these in the registration process. Portal users cannot change their usernames. Should you need further assistance, please contact your local AirPlus Customer Support team here.
If you need help using the new AirPlus Portal, please watch our videos here to access step-by-step guides.
Each new portal session will require you to enter a one-time password or PIN (referred to in the portal as TAN) when generating the first Virtual Card. AirPlus will send the PIN (TAN) by text message to your phone number or by email if preferred.
A portal session lasts as long as you stay active and signs you out after 15 minutes of inactivity.
You can click on the flag icon at the top right of the AirPlus Portal, which then offers a drop-down menu with several language options.

Here are a few key things to consider to make sure your customer’s migration runs as smoothly as possible.
Retrieving your new account number is critical to generate new AirPlus Virtual Cards for your customers.
There are two ways of retrieving your new account number: send an email to partnermigration@airplus.com or contact your customer to receive their new account numbers before the migration date (April 12, 2021).
To continue generating AirPlus Virtual Cards, you must register for the new AirPlus Portal . As a Travel Agency Administrator, you will have received an activation link enabling you to create all needed portal users within your travel agency. If the activation link is no longer valid, the Travel Agency Administrator needs to click on “Back to Login.” Alternatively, the Travel Agency Administrator can use the “Forgot password?” function on the login screen of the new portal to set a new password. Please follow the prompts from there.
