AirPlus International has appointed Birgit Hölzel as the new Director Country Management Germany. She succeeds Michael Fürer, who after ten years as sales manager for the German market has gone on to take over the management of the AirPlus subsidiary BCC Corporate in Belgium.

“With Birgit Hölzel we are pleased to have found a colleague who has already contributed substantially to the double-digit growth rate of AirPlus, thanks to her international experience and expertise,” said Patrick W. Diemer, Chairman of the Board of AirPlus International. “We are convinced that in her new role she will also ensure that AirPlus continues to grow and that its leading position in Germany is strengthened.”

Birgit Hölzel has been working more than 17 years for the credit card specialist AirPlus. During that time she headed a number of teams in various departments and countries. As Commercial Director Asia Pacific she was most recently responsible over the past three years for sales and customer service in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. In doing so, she drove both process improvement and change management forward. She played a significant role in the development and implementation of APAC strategy, forming the basis for sustainable growth in the region.
