German business travelers are on the go around the world, covering vast distances: 11,230,812,562 flight miles were accumulated by German companies in 2015.*
An amazing fact can be calculated from the miles flown by German business travelers: At this distance, they could have flown to the sun 120 times in 2015 alone. If you look back over the past two years, you can see that there has been a noticeable increase of 5.2 percent in miles covered.
For 2016, German travel managers are predicting a stable year in business travel. According to the latest AirPlus Travel Management Study 2016, almost three-quarters of those surveyed believe that the number of trips booked by their companies will remain at the previous year’s level.** In contrast, the number of travel managers who expect an increase in travel activity has declined sharply – at 20 percent, this proportion lies well under the Western European and worldwide averages. Your traveling colleagues are considerably more optimistic on this point: 37 percent of German business travelers assume there will be more business trips than in 2015.
