Patrick W. Diemer, Chairman of the AirPlus Board
Patrick W. Diemer was born in Mainz in 1957. He studied economics at university in Kiel and Hamburg.
He began his professional career at PRODIGY in White Plains, NY, USA. After that, he headed the Marketing department of Matuschka Privat Finanz GmbH in Munich, Germany. In 1991, that company was taken over by Commerzbank. He then switched to the Commerzbank in Frankfurt where, as a Director, he was last responsible for all private client Marketing. From 1997 to 2003, Patrick W. Diemer was General Manager of Visa International in Germany.
He came to AirPlus International in 2003. As Chairman of the AirPlus Board, he is responsible for Marketing, Sales, HR, and Strategy and thus for the international expansion of all operations.
Roland Kern, Member of the Management Board
Roland Kern was born in Bensberg near Cologne in 1965.
He worked at Deutsche Bank for 22 years, holding various positions including national and international trade finance. From 1999 to 2006, he worked as a Senior Consultant for Risk Management methods and organization, consulting companies and the public sector.
Roland Kern joined the Lufthansa Group in 2006 and was last employed there as Head of Treasury. In that position he was responsible for cash management, liquidity and risk management, as well as asset management and pension funds.
Since 2014, Roland Kern has been a member of the Management Board of Lufthansa AirPlus, reponsible for Finance, Global Services and Regulatory & Risk.
Spencer Hanlon, Member of the Management Board
Spencer Hanlon was born in Hamburg in 1972. He is a Qualified Management Accountant and studied at the University of Newcastle in Great Britain.
Spencer Hanlon joined AirPlus International in 2003. He was previously employed by British Airways for ten years in various management positions globally.
Since 2018, Spencer Hanlon has been a member of the Management Board of AirPlus International and is responsible for Operations (COO) and Transformation (CTO).
