Ultramar Travel Management Announces First-to-Market Technology

Innovations to Provide Unprecedented Time and Cost Savings to the Legal Industry

Ultramar Travel Management today announced the launch of a brand new technology offering specifically developed to address the needs of major law firms. A web-based application, Ultramar’s RecruitSync™ will help law firms to significantly reduce the time spent managing and processing individual expense reports of potential candidates.

Recognizing that the “sharing” of a potential candidate’s expenses is common practice amongst law firms -- and a time-consuming and complicated practice at that -- Ultramar set out to find a solution for its numerous law firm clients.

Over the past year, Ultramar succeeded. After soliciting the feedback of several top firms through a series of advisory councils, and working closely with one of its longstanding clients to develop customized software, Ultramar created RecruitSync™, which can be tailored for any law firm. Traditionally, the entire candidate expense management system had taken several months to reconcile, with many charges simply going unprocessed. Now all of the expenses can be captured via an easy-to-navigate online reporting system that can be shared among law firms.

“We recognized that the entire candidate expense reconciliation process was a major pain point for many of our prestigious law firm clients,” said Peter Klebanow, Ultramar’s Chairman and CEO. “In essence we have created a “marketplace” among the law firms where they can quickly and efficiently share the data that they need to share, thereby reducing transaction processing costs by an estimated fifty percent.”

RecruitSync™ is ready for the 2007 recruiting season and is available to all law firms.

Ultramar is also pleased to announce the development of advanced technology that will significantly improve the accuracy and lower the costs of processing travel billing to clients.

In collaboration with AirPlus International, a leading worldwide provider of business travel payment solutions, Ultramar has developed technology that integrates billing and payment data on a real-time basis from multiple sources. This unique process provides:

  • True billing period and statement matching
  • Low cost carrier content reconciliation (ticket-less transactions)
  • The ability to track and reconcile at-airport initiated transactions
  • Agency service fee clearly linked to the corresponding ticket

“For one of our larger law firms, we witnessed a significant decrease of processing time with this new platform,” said Michel Botbol, COO, Ultramar Travel Management. “Basically, what used to take two to three days to complete is now down to one hour.”
