Continental Airlines is AirPlus’ new co-operation partner

Extended network of partners strengthens market position in business travel management

London, September 11, 2003. – AirPlus, the leading international supplier of Business Travel Management solutions, has expanded its network of airline partners around the world: the most recent partner is Continental Airlines in the US, the seventh largest carrier worldwide, with a highly developed global orientation. This strategic collaboration complements the existing co-operations with Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines and most recently in the UK with British Airways and strengthens AirPlus’ market position as a supplier of global Business Travel Management solutions.

“We chose AirPlus because it is the leading supplier of payment solutions and Business Travel Management data processing services” according to Dave Hilfman, Vice President Sales Continental Airlines. “AirPlus is therefore now enabling us to offer our major customers improved technology and additional capability characteristics that meet all their Business Travel Management needs.”

“We are pleased that Continental Airlines has chosen us as its partner. The co-operation with this US carrier will further expand our position as a supplier of global Business Travel Management solutions. It will also bolster AirPlus’ position as airlines’ favorite payment partner”, said Peter Metzler.

AirPlus offers corporate customers the Continental Airlines AirPlus Company Account in conjunction with its new US partner. This new joint product makes it much easier for companies to pay for and analyse business trips. Instead of a large number of individual invoices, companies receive a clear combined statement, making time-consuming reconciliation work unnecessary. The company itself decides on the internal criteria (cost centers, project or personnel numbers) that are to be used to determine the layout of the statement. This saves a great deal of time in the day-to-day management of business trips.

As well as using the Continental Airlines AirPlus Company Account to pay for tickets of all international airlines, companies can also use it to easily pay for all other travel services. The Continental Airlines AirPlus Company Account supplements AirPlus’ product range of and, in conjunction with the AirPlus Information Manager analysis tool, provides companies with an optimum basis for analysing and controlling their business travel expenditure.

Over 20,000 corporate customers worldwide rely on AirPlus to meet their Business Travel Management needs and make great cost savings as a result. AirPlus provides settlement services for tickets from over 260 airlines.
