
AirPlus Appoints New Board Member
Patrick W. Diemer to Lead Sales, Customer Care, Globalization of Corporate Card Program
AirPlus Board of Directors today announced Patrick W. Diemer will join the board and work along side Peter Metzler and Dr. Michael Peine. In his new role, Diemer will be responsible for sales and customer care.
One of Diemer’s key tasks as a board member will be to globalize the corporate cards division of AirPlus business travel management, particurly a key countries like the U.K., France, Italy, Switzerland and the U.S. Diemer previously worked for VISA in Germany, where he was general manager since 1997 and developed an excellent knowledge of the global credit card market.
"We will offer our customers an international corporate card product that meets the market requirements of every country. Travel managers of international companies who use AirPlus receive all the benefits of a business travel management solution from one source," Deimer said. "Therefore, we are expanding existing partnerships in various markets and simultaneously extending our network to include new partners for the benefit of our customers."
In his new role, Diemer also said he intents to move forward with the globalization of the AirPlus Company Account, which companies in more than 20 countries use to purchase air travel on more than 200 airlines. AirPlus recently added several global corporations as clients, including cosmetics manufacturer L’Oreal U.K. and the Italian fashion company Benetton.
Diemer said cooperation with national airlines and travel agency chains also will be a significant factor in the success of the international expansion of the AirPlus business model. "They are important market partners and as a neutral supplier, we will cooperate with them in order to provide our customers with multinational business travel management"
