2007/01/29AirPlus wins Business Travel World Award
Payment provider triumphs with innovative solution
AirPlus International, the leading global travel payment provider was awarded an award for the Best Expense Management Process at the prestigious Business Travel World Awards last night. AirPlus fought off competition from Barclaycard to scoop the award, which recognises processes that expedite, improve and find solutions to the corporate expense management process.
AirPlus’s entry to this year’s awards highlighted its new software solution, A.I.D.A., AirPlus Integrated Data and Acceptance, that enables the purchase of any travel service with a lodge card, whilst capturing all the extensive additional data demanded by clients. Previously, universal acceptance combined with full data capture had been near impossible, which is why the AirPlus Company Account is now considered to be the most powerful lodge card in the world. A large number of AirPlus clients are already successfully using A.I.D.A., which is an integral part of all AirPlus Company Accounts. One client’s case study, detailing the way in which A.I.D.A. solved their issues relating to the booking of low cost carriers, was part of the award entry for AirPlus and helped win the prize in the end.
The panel of judges, made up of travel industry experts, felt that thanks to the introduction of A.I.D.A., corporates now see AirPlus as a serious option. One judge said, “Before it was just a lodge card. Now it is very good.”
Yael Klein, Managing Director of AirPlus International Ltd, commented, “We are delighted that we have won such a respected award. To us it means that the industry recognises our efforts in providing our clients with the best service possible. A.I.D.A. has been a breakthrough in our work to provide a payment product for all business travel service providers – from low cost carriers, to rail, hotels and beyond. All with the outstanding data quality that clients have come to expect from us.”
